She’s back in our lives! Fantastic life model and fastest thing on two wheels (bicycle that is) Elise was finally able to pose for us this week. The fifteen minute drawings below were done by myself after the break from a vantage point on the steps by the entrance, hence the foreshortening.

I had a nice email from Jessica Stride the other day
Hi Will,
I thought I’d send you my latest life drawings from your Thursday evening sessions, in case you’d like any of them for your blog. I’ve really enjoyed this term – it seemed to end so soon, and such a long break!
Looking forward to next [...]

I’ve had the chance to use some great models this term. Try getting your hands into the same position as the model in the sketch below third from left, difficult isn’t it? Last night Jade and Benita came up to me during the coffee break and suggested the idea of doing some poses where they could balance and lean against each [...]

I had a funny phone call from someone in the class who wanted to know if next week’s class was the last one of the winter term. (This was back in early December) They’d been driving in from Portishead the previous week and given up because there was a bad traffic jam. This was three weeks [...]

Paula joined the group fairly recently. We first spoke over the phone towards the end of last term. Then she left a comment on this blog although neither of us had, at this point made the connection that we were the same people. I just assumed she was from London, although she has actually [...]

I’ve decided to make this a mass round up of images from this term’s life drawing class, a term that is now drawing to a close.(Two more weeks to go, but all being well we should be back in January) Images seven and nine by John Kincade and David Jones are of Suzanne, one of [...]

Well I’ve been running this Bristol Life Drawing blog since May and I’m amazed at the number of hits that it’s generated. One of the interesting things about running a blog is the stats page where you can see a breakdown of all the people who’ve visited and what search terms they’ve used. Aside from some [...]

It’s nice to be able to put some more life drawings up by Peri Taylor. She’s been coming to the class for a long time and was good enough to be one of the first people to donate some life drawings for this project. Because this is a blog of course, and because blogs get updated from [...]

Well, I’ll be back at Bristol Grammar School next week so it’s a temporary farewell to the Horfield space we’ve been using for the last few weeks. I’m already missing having my own door key, not having such a long drive to get there on Thursday nights and not having [...]
